First week in the workshop in Richmond was all about learning how to operate and use the woodworking lathe safely. this gave both Veterans woodcraft and the veterans from the Beacon chance to meet and see how each other 'TICKS'.
This week was the tester for the Veterans who turned up to continue with the woodworking. the first task was to identify parts of the lathe and to choose a piece of wood to turn. All three did well and have produced some fantastic turnings. at the end of the day they all said that they will be back next week.
Some of the quotes made during the day by the veterans, "I can really get into this", another "Time flies when i am on the lathe" and " This is really therapeutic, I love it".
Veterans wood craft are pleased with the comments, the commitment made, and look forward to doing even more work with the veterans over the coming weeks.
